Yes, folks, while another year has come and gone, some very fine  
music has been produced and found its way into our annual editors'  
picks of the best of the best. And, once again, I'll begin with the  
disclaimer that this listing should be considered simply a  
representation, as there could have been many other selections that  
we would have liked to include if not for the inherent limitations of  
this exercise.
2007 brought a lot of strong salsa and Latin jazz from Cuba, New  
York, Puerto Rico and South American — Colombia becoming quite the  
epicenter of salsa as of late. However, it's the strength and quality  
of the material being produced in Venezuela that clearly marks 2007  
as an important benchmark...
